We had a scare several weeks ago when Tony passed out post-workout at Life Time Fitness. His resting heart rate was very low (43 bpm) and likely the reason he fainted. Some athletes are so conditioned they have resting heart rates that low without cause for concern. But my husband didn’t quite fit into that category. He was sent home with a Holter monitor and told NOT to excercise until he followed up with a cardiologist.
We met with the cardiologist last week and after reviewing the [normal] Holter monitor results, he concluded that dehydration was the likely cause of Tony’s fainting and breathing issues. (He also referred Tony to a sleep clinic to evaluate him for OSA.) If Tony continues to have trouble we will follow-up with the cardiologist for further testing.
So that is hopefully that.
Thank you for your prayers and concern!

I will pray for all of you. I hope that Tony finds out what is wrong soon and takes care of his health. You all need each other. You have a beautiful family. It’s fun to see when you post pictures.
Take Care of yourself too Tina!!!

So glad to hear that the outlook is good! Prayers that this never happens again!
Thank you, Becky!
I agree, Colleen. I have to admit I’m still a bit uneasy about him working out again – but at least now he knows to lay on the floor if he gets dizzy. (He was sitting in a chair when it happened at Life Time.) I guess you are less likely to pass out if your brain is level with the heart.
Glad to hear it is likely dehydration. Will continue to keep you all in my prayers and that you would have peace about this.
