I am an entrepreneur. I have a vision [always have]. My personality is hardwired to see possibilities. While I knew this day was coming, it doesn’t make it any easier. It has never been easy for me to leave a good thing behind – but I have learned, it’s the only way to discover what adventures lie ahead!
I signed on as a Creative Memories consultant in July 2001 after being SUCKED IN to the world of scrapbooking by my sister-in-law, Amy. Storytelling spoke to something deep inside of me. My husband was a teacher at the time and I was at home with our two young boys… providing childcare for a friend’s two boys. Money was tight and my social life nonexistent. Creative Memories seemed like the perfect answer.
Little did I know how much it would change my life. Helping me to confront my fear of public speaking. Surrounding me with many wonderful friends who offered support during my pregnancy losses. Leading me to my friendship with Tilly! Bringing about the faithbooking crops and many friendships that resulted from those monthly gatherings.
Above all else, Creative Memories allowed me to serve families during times of crisis. Creating albums for individuals and families walking with cancer, suffering the loss of a child, or facing adversity has been the most rewarding experience of all.
I stepped into this role with the promise I would never put our family into debt to meet my quarterly minimums and never once did I spend our money to keep things afloat. Things have changed a great deal over the last couple of years and I sensed that as God was growing my photography business, the time would come for me to let go of my role as Creative Memories consultant. With the end of the quarter just days away and my minimum still very much out of reach, it is clear the time has come.
While I will no longer sell Creative Memories supplies, I will continue to organize and host the winter and spring weekend scrapbooking retreats. I will also continue to coordinate crop meetups at Archiver’s (the next one will be in January!!!) and share scrapbooking ideas and inspiration via blog posts.
And as far as a Creative Memories consultant connection goes, I know a whole slew of WONDERFUL ladies who could help you out. Just let me know if you need a referral!
