As I mentioned yesterday, I picked up a new toy and attending the breakout Lensbaby Love: The Basics and Beyond gave me exactly what I needed to get started. The most challenging part of using a Lensbaby is getting used to focusing manually – especially so because the focal point moves whenever you tilt the lens.
The Lensbaby doesn’t communicate with the camera as other lenses do, so you are basically “eyeballing it” – not knowing until you see the image on your computer screen, whether or not you have nailed the shot. This makes for some very creative and interesting images that I absolutely ADORE.
The first two images were taken with the Lensbaby Composer Pro and Sweet 35 Optic. The single raspberry was taken with the addition of the 16mm Macro Converter. I can’t wait to share more in the coming weeks as I get to know this new equipment, especially the Edge 80 Optic which mimics a tilt-shift lens.
A blur-lover’s dream.
