I had a date last night.
An “official date” as my husband called it. (Which is apparently different than running to Applebees on a Monday night for $5 burgers.) After much hemming and hawing, we settled on Andiamo. I wasn’t really in the mood for pasta but when I spotted GARLIC MASHED POTATOES on the menu, I was sold.
That and a dozen or so favorable reviews on Urbanspoon.
I settled on the Filetto Cacciatore (grilled tender beef medallions, red sauce w/capers served with GARLIC MASHED POTATOES). Excellent. I also sampled one of their house wines and Sambuca chocolate coffee for dessert. Excellent. Someone had given us the tip of making reservations ahead of time and I am so glad we did! The place was BUSY and had we not called in advance, there would have been a 35-minute wait. Our server (Zach) helpfully steered us through the menu and specials. Service (like everything else) was excellent as well! We will be going back to try the pizza sometime. And cannoli. 🙂
We had a little free time before our movie and made quick stop for an impromptu photo session. I had been telling Tony FOREVER that I have had a vision for a series of images using him and light. Specifically, night light. So in the next several months, we will be commemorating every “official date” with a night light session.
I’m one lucky gal.
