our 9th or 10th annual boo fest

I’m simply too lazy to count but either way, we have been doing this a very long time.

Every Halloween since living in this neighborhood, we have passed out hot cider and big candy bars.  Over the years, we added coffee and baked goods for the adults and older teens.

For the record, I looooooove the groups of teens that come by at the very end.  LOVE THEM.  They are always so surprised and so very grateful.  And personally, who can knock a kid for wanting to hang on to their childhood just a teeny bit longer?

I saw some AWESOME family costumes this year.  My favorite always being this darling family:

Seeing and photographing their family costume has become part of our Halloween tradition.  Dad promises it will continue even as their boys get older.  I am counting on it!  [Click HERE and HERE to view their costumes from previous years.]

There were several FIRSTS for this year and I failed to document even one with my camera so this blog post will be my only record:

1.  Neither one of our boys went trick-or-treating this year.
2.  And for the reason above, my husband was home to help for the first time!
3.  Emilio’s girlfriend joined us in passing out treats.
4.  Pippy joined us as well!
5.  WE RAN OUT OF CANDY! Which means we had more than 144 trick-or-treaters stop by. Biggest evening yet!!!

I love that our boys enjoy the experience of passing out treats and greeting neighbors.  I love that their friends came over to take part in it as well.  I love that Tony was home and that some of our friends stopped by to visit.

Just plain old fun.
