It had been YEARS since I last stepped into the Dakota Jazz Club. In fact, the last time I did they were located in St. Paul at Bandana Square. I knew Tony would enjoy the food and hoped the atmosphere would speak to the musician inside.
He loved it on both counts!
Tony ordered the Steak & Fries (hanger steak, house cut fries, cheese curds, brown sauce) which I sampled and swear will be what I have next time around. I ordered the Steak Burger with a side of Béarnaise for the fries and we shared the Almond Joy Tart for dessert. Everything, EVERYTHING was absolutely delicious. And the service? Spectacular.
If you’re looking for a special place to celebrate a special occasion, the Dakota Jazz Club would be perfect whether you are with a group of friends or alone with your spouse. Reservations are recommended (I booked our date more than two weeks in advance because of the many sold out shows). Keep in mind there is a cover charge applied when dining during a performance – we both thought it well worth the entertainment that evening.
It was our only “official” date this month which I guess makes it sort of special. 🙂
