Mary attended the very first Everyday Photographer Workshop last year. Back when there were eight in attendance instead of three. Back when the workshop was open to point-and-shoot cameras. Back when we talked about “first steps” and stepping out of auto mode. (Things are a little different these days; the workshop has grown over time and now includes instruction on full-on manual mode.)
At each workshop, I make several adjustments to all of the cameras so we are working with closely matched settings. It seemed only fitting to do the same for Mary’s new camera (her very first DSLR).
We met for coffee and reviewed some of the basics from last April. Then I taught Mary how to shoot in full-on manual mode like a pro! We snapped a ton of pics at the coffee shop and beyond.
Gathering a few necessary props before our final destination.
We talked about the light in her home and I captured a few images with an apprehensive furry model:
Making for a fun, fun day that was an inspiration to me as well. Have a blast with your new camera, Mary!!!
