Each weekend is as unique as the group of ladies in attendance.
And this past weekend was no exception.
Despite the fact we are approaching our 10th anniversary at Memory Lane (making it 20 weekends in all!!!), no two are ever the same.
This time, there was a new door. I shared my grandma’s journal. There was talk of eating squirrel and turtle soup (“strange meats” in my book – which for the record, also includes scallops). Poor Mary was nursing a cold. In addition to our usual pizza order (the asparagus specialty, plain old pepperoni, and pepperoni-mushroom-onion-green olive) we threw in A TACO PIZZA. The Thursday ladies and I had fondue. FaceTime conversations. Sunshine. PMS Bars and all sorts of other yummy treats and snacks. Sandwiches… oh so many sandwiches => what was I thinking?!!
Then there were moments that belong in my faithbooking album. Special moments between the ladies. Things that deeply touched my heart.
God making His presence known. Reminding me He is there and always at work. Reminding me of The Big Picture and the importance of keeping my priorities in order. ALWAYS.
So many special memories surround these retreats, so many lovely ladies over the years.
And the laughter. Tons of laughter.
Thank you ladies for making the weekends so special. For sharing your stories. For inspiring me to live the way I want to be remembered!
Which is the heart of why I scrapbook in the first place. Everything else is bonus. 😀
Our next retreat (the 2014 December Weekend Scrapbooking Retreat) is full but I am ironing out details for 2015 and should have another date on the calendar by the end of the week; I’ll be sure to keep you posted!
