My passion for cooking and table time. The desire for authentic, meaningful connections. For the last year, God has been cultivating a seed. Impressing the importance of sharing our stories. Revealing a sacredness about mealtime – the laughter, taking time to really enjoy food, the experience of slowing down, and face-to-face conversations; all so very rare these days.
I thoroughly enjoy family mealtime and treasure the many, many years of sharing meals with the scrapbooking retreat ladies. The problem is, I want more! [This growing desire is not only reflected in my journal writing, but in blog posts here and there, and even in my word for 2014.]
When I first heard about IF:Table, I knew immediately it was something I wanted to take part in. The video below shares a glimpse:
Beginning next month, I will be inviting five women over for dinner. The woman may not necessarily even know each other and it could change from month-to-month as seats open up. We will just have to see how it unfolds. The plan is simply to gather each month for a couple of hours to share a meal while discussing four questions. (The conversation cards from last month are HERE.)
And I will do all of the cooking and cleanup, just like at the weekend scrapbooking retreats.
I created this post to give you some insight into what IF:Table is about in case you receive an invitation from me in the future. (In addition to clicking on the previous link, you can also click HERE and HERE for more information).
I am thrilled to watch this seed come to life!
