I love Open Table. I love the fact that I can make a reservation online which then almost feels like a date before the date.
Because we have committed to it! I had been hounding Tony via FB messaging during Glam Doll Donuts 12 Days of Christmas. Sending him pictures of donuts. Describing in great detail the donuts that most appealed to me. I kept telling him we NEEDED to go – but alas, a donut run never came to be. 🙁
So I decided to arrange a Date Night in the neighborhood. Because then we would have to make a stop.
I AM SO GLAD I DID!!!!! I made reservations at Eat Street Social after reading all sorts of rave reviews. Several menu items appealed to me: Smoked Pork Chops, Sweet Potato Gnocchi, and a unique array of cocktails (I never made it past the Witch Hazel => brown butter infused Great Lakes Pumpkin Spirit, maple brown sugar syrup, Trifecta Bitters). Tony ended up ordering the Prime Rib and I had the Amish Chicken with a bacon and brussels sprout ragout I am still craving five days later. The BEST meal either one of us have had in a very long time.
So good, I almost forgot about our donut run.
Almost. I chose a couple of sweet & spicy numbers for myself, including the Chart Topper (peanut butter & sriracha) and the Bomb Shell (spiced Mexican chocolate & cayenne pecans).
I may have chose ten more, just because. And just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, Tony decided to take me to secret destination.
His new office in Woodbury.
A fun, fun night dreaming about the future and reflecting on the past.
