hard to believe it’s been a full six months

Six months out since surgery (total pelvic floor reconstruction) and I am doing well.  Periodic pain reminds me that healing is still taking place but it is OH SO MUCH better!  Definitely one of the most excruciating things I’ve experienced in my lifetime.  My new normal means operating at a slower pace, carrying no more than 10 pounds at a given time (EVER), listening to my body and putting my feet up when needed, no running or jumping or sit-ups or leg lifts (EVER), and being mindful of repetitive bending.

It sort of feels like something happened to my head during the experience, perhaps because life was off-kilter for SO LONG.  It’s been a little tough getting back into the swing of things.

And the pace is about to pick up; I have three weddings, multiple high school senior, baby and family sessions ahead, hoping I can remain balanced.

NEEDING to remain balanced!!!

Looking forward to summer and connecting with new people, stories, and faces.  Looking forward to days at the pool, evenings by the fire, and Friday Breakfast Dates.  Gardening and grilling.  Warm walks and margaritas on the front porch with Tony.  How about you?  What are you looking forward to most in the months ahead?

So glad you are feeling better! I am looking forward to time being active outside with my girls, weddings for 2 important people in my life and the celebrations that come with it, and a few relaxing getaways up north. I have a feeling the rest of 2015 will fly by, but then it’s time for your retreat!!

Outside time with the littles = LOVE. I’ve been collecting retreat items but have yet to begin making samples for the craft sessions! There are LOTS of fun treats in store. 😀

I am looking forward to time in my garden…getting my hands dirty. Playing the the two little girls mentioned in Crystal’s comments! I need some good Grammy time! And one important wedding. I know the summery months will FLY by. Our weekends are already looking quite busy…so I will need to stay intentional about how I recharge and take time to enjoy!

I was journaling about the very same thing this morning, Lynn – being intentional about *living* in the moment and not getting caught up in tide (or… as it feels in some cases, TIDAL WAVE). Here’s to savoring those summery moments…
