As I mentioned in last night’s blog post, Tony and I spent the day helping to capture a benefit in our friend’s honor.
The last six weeks have been tragically difficult for the Crooker family. Chris was diagnosed with Stage IV Sarcomatoid Kidney Cancer, a rare and aggressive form of cancer that has no cure. He was forced to retire from his career so all funds raised will help the family tackle growing expenses. I was incredibly moved by the team that surrounded Chris, Sharon, and the rest of their family. It was a testimony of deep friendship, years together making rich memories.
The generosity of Neisen’s Sports Bar, numerous silent auction donors, photographer Greg Mellang (Fotodog), ANDVD Media, Heidi’s Bakery of Cupcakery, and the stellar bands who freely gave their time and talent made this event a spectacular celebration of Chris Crooker’s life.
A day to remember for so many reasons.
Husband, father, son, uncle, grandson, cousin, brother, and friend. Chris is one of the nicest guys you will ever know. I heard those words over and over and over again. And if you take a look at the sea of people that flowed through the place, one thing is certain.
Chris has made his mark on a countless number of lives.
Powerful stuff. Here are several more of my favorite images from the day:
Please consider making a donation and keep Chris and his entire family in your prayers.
