With winter here in full force (gray days and cold nights), it seems most of our dates have been under a blanket on the couch! [We are so digging the new OJ series BTW.] We decided to shake things up a bit last weekend with a place from my mile long must-visit list. This quaint little neighborhood has been calling to me for over a year:
Tony and I stopped for a late-night dinner at the Riverview Wine Bar (if you have never been here before, the location is half wine bar/half café). Twinkle lights strung on the front of the building make for the most romantic lighting inside. There is a lovely bar along one side of the small restaurant, a collection of plush sofas and small tables fill the rest. They have a great selection of wine/beer and the menu is simple but heavenly; I ordered a flat bread pizza loaded with drunken figs, caramelized onion, almonds, chevre, and roasted garlic oil and my husband had the featured burger (both incredibly good). We shared a dish of chocolate mousse then made our way to the theater across the street for our 9:25 pm movie.
The Riverview Theater houses one large screen and at $3/seat cannot be beat! The 1950s décor is gorgeous and despite the line outside the door, seating was plentiful. Awesome date night and about as cozy of an evening you can get leaving the house. 🙂
