cassidy | minnesota high school senior photographer

Cassidy was one of my very first models ever as a photographer [her mom and I go way back].  A picture from that session is below:

At the start of her high school adventure, I had another opportunity to work with Cassidy and a friend.  A shot from that session is below:

One of her images even hangs in my office as a sample graduation announcement.

It really should have come as no surprise when Sharon contacted me for Cassidy’s REAL senior pictures. But it did.

Because holy mackerel, she’s almost grown up now. We spent the morning in Stillwater – Cass, her friend, and me. Here are some of my favorites from our time by the river:

A quick outfit change and we were off again!

Another outfit change and we were moving our way through town.

I had to, of course, incorporate her fashion consultant into a couple of shots as well. 🙂

Thanks again, Cassidy, for trusting me when things seemed a bit unconventional.  [You did a GREAT job!]  It was a fun morning for me – hope it was for you, too!

we got the band together, man

Had some longtime friends over the other night – Tony’s bandmates and their families.  I’m still having a tough time with the fact that some of us have a 20+ year history together.

Where has the time gone?!!

We also had our last hurrah at the pool for the season.  [It closes on Tuesday.]

Where has the time gone?!!!

Today we are laying low, mourning savoring the last day of summer.  Happy Labor Day!

everyday family session | woodbury, minnesota photographer

Long, looooong ago I used to work at a Minneapolis law firm where I met my friend Leslie.  While we’ve managed to stay connected all these years, it’s been forever since we’ve seen each in person.  That made this Everyday Session all the more fun!

Leslie has a beautiful home and family.  She introduced me to both a few weeks ago when she invited me over to capture a day in their life.

A little furry someone was waiting for me at the door.

Along with a second furry someone inside. 🙂

Leslie’s daughter then gave me the official tour which, of course, began in her room.  I love capturing little details of things most important to kids in the moment because it hints to their personalities, likes, how they spend their time, and so much more.  This young girl is moving out of the princess phase and LOVES peace symbols, gymnastics, and the color purple.

My favorite color is purple, so we hit it straight off.  😉

Next stop, the basement.  Not only was I able to capture some amazing acrobatic feats…

I also spied a little Barbie action.

My favorite moments – unposed, everyday actions we have a tendency to take for granted.

Before heading off to the park, we spent time in their backyard oasis.

The park was one Leslie’s daughter had been itching to visit with her parents.

I love how mom and dad jumped right in.

It’s tough to know when to cut off the sharing with so many great moments captured.

They even treated ME to ice cream at a favorite local spot.

With lots of silliness and giggles between father and daughter. Thank you, thank you Leslie and Jim for the fun afternoon with your family!

heart stuff – figuratively & literally

:: love ::

Tony and I celebrated 17 years of marriage on Sunday by grabbing takeout from our favorite Chinese restaurant and going to a drive-in movie.

two dates in one weekend

Friday night was Mexican food, carrot cake & a walk in the park. Two dates in one weekend, we need to do that more often. 🙂

Tony met with his primary physician today as a follow-up to the ER visit last week.  His Holter monitor results were still not in but after reviewing the bloodwork,  Tony’s doctor is sure he fainted in response to the very low heart rate; he, like the ER doctor, believes his body was reacting defensively to protect the brain (making sure it had enough blood).  The concern at this point is why it dropped so low in the first place.  Until they find out, Tony has been told NO EXERCISE.  He will see a cardiologist in the next couple of weeks for further tests.

That’s all we have right now.  I’ll keep you posted if anything changes.

Jaci (Primmer) Gruber - August 28, 2012 - 9:17 pm

Happy Belated Anniversary! My husband and I celebrated our 20th Anniversary last week, too! Must be something about August weddings!

I’ll be keeping Tony in my prayers. He is a person who made my time at UWRF so fun and memorable.

Tina - August 28, 2012 - 9:52 pm

Happy Anniversary to you as well, Jaci, and thank you for the prayers!

one large gathering | inver grove heights, minnesota family session

If you’ve been following my blog for some time, you might see a few familiar faces in the midst of this large family gathering.  I have known Mellissa for what seems like FOREVER.  Her mom contacted me wanting pics of their entire clan.

It was a fast-moving session in more ways than one. 🙂

And fun to have the opportunity to get to know Mellissa’s extended family.  Working with all of the different ages and personalities kept me on my toes.

Lots of silliness.  And giggles.  And hugs.

After hearing so much about it, I finally had the chance to see Mellissa’s GINORMOUS garden.  And spend time on the property that I love so much.

My favorite location for so many reasons…

Here are several more from our lovely afternoon together:

Beautiful family, Sue!  Thanks again for inviting me out to capture everyone!!
