grandma passed away last night

selfie with grandma

My grandma lost her battle with pancreatic cancer last night. Thanks to all who have held her close in prayer.

I’m sorry for your loss. You and your family will continue to be in my prayers. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

Thank you, Amy…

Prayers for you and your family as you say goodbye to your beloved grandma!

Jodie McLagan - February 27, 2012 - 3:38 pm

Tina, I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of your Grandma. Grandmas are so special! As you say ‘goodbye’ and celebrate her life, may you and your family find comfort through the story-telling and reminiscing. I’m sure there’s lots of great stories. Memories bring comfort & healing. The Lord brings peace and rest. Keeping you in my prayers during this time. Love, Jodie

PS Birthday blessings to you. As you celebrate Grandma’s life, celebrate your life. This is the day which the Lord hath made. Psalm 118:24

one two of my favorite ways to get lost

1. Wandering through a mall or bookstore or gift shop for the sole purpose of exploring. I especially love doing this with my family.

2. Soaking up every blog interview, how-to article, and image in THIS magazine.

artful blogging

A dreamy escape.

How about you? What is your favorite way to lose time?

Wandering music stores looking at all the things I can’t afford to buy!

inspiring on so many levels

beautiful book

I came across this book several weeks ago and instantly fell in love.

Me Ra Koh

Me Ra’s natural style and attention to detail grabbed me from the start. I finally sat down to soak up the goodness and did just that in a matter of hours.

But it left me thirsty for more.

I set out to find her website and joyfully discovered that Me Ra is coming to the Twin Cities in April!!! Information about her workshop is HERE and yes, I AM ATTENDING. (You can learn more about Me Ra Koh’s inspiring story by clicking HERE.)  While I am very excited to be going, it does pose a conflict with our April Faithbooking Crop. (As I shared with you in an earlier post, March and May have already been cancelled.) So at this point, it looks as if our next monthly faithbooking crop will not take place until June.

Yes, a very loooong ways away.

I have been praying about the direction of our monthly crops – many have asked for the return of our 12-hour crops but Hosanna! is unable to accommodate us at this time. Though my heart is leaning towards hosting quarterly 12-hour crops instead of the monthly 9-3 format, I would love to hear YOUR thoughts on the topic and will be posting an online survey in the near future.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy Me Ra Koh’s work and are moved by her story. (Be sure to check out her blog for some great photography tips as well!)

Hi Tina,
I really miss the 12 hour crops. I know…also haven’t been able to be at the regular 9-3 ones either. The quarterly 12-hr crops would give more flexibility…I feel I can come in later or leave earlier and still get something accomplished. Perhaps easier for you? We have a party room in our apartment building and the thought occured to me — maybe someone in an aptmt has a nice, large party room that could be used if the church isn’t available? Just a thought. Our rm is smaller, but, it could be available. Also, the workshop you’re going to looks amazing! I went to her website and read her story – WOW! Enjoy your time there.
Blessings! ~Jodie

Thanks for your feedback, Jodie! We have two big issues when it comes to cropping space – rectangular tables and adequate lighting. We need a place that will provide both. If we need a new location, I have the feeling another church would be our best option – especially if we move to a quarterly format. With fewer crops and longer days, attendance would be higher (we hovered around 40-50 at our previous 12-hour events). I’m going to first survey the masses to see how everyone feels before making any type of move. I’ll keep you posted!
