i’m heeeeeeere!

all checked in

I just checked into my hotel room and will be heading downstairs to connect with a few other ladies attending the workshop this weekend as well.  (Aside from email introductions, we have never met!)   Then I’ll be heading back up to my room to finish today’s 5 Fun Things Friday post and [hopefully] work on a few personal images. (I am waaaaaay behind!)

Our day begins at 9:30 am tomorrow and I am so excited!  I’ll likely be tied up into the evening but will be Tweeting along the way (with another blog update tomorrow night).

Be back soon!!!

capturing everyday life with teens

Our youngest son has braces now and the bedtime routine is a wee bit more complicated. I forgot to capture this routine with his brother and didn’t want to miss the second chance.

I have to challenge myself to continue taking pictures of moments that define the current season of their lives. It was a piece of cake when they were little because everything was so new and fresh; it seemed I ALWAYS had my camera out, ready to spring into action.

Not so much now.:(

I need to be careful not to let this time slip away too quickly.  Because before you know it, they will be off on their own.

And I will miss these moments terribly.

our deck build :: week 1

As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, Tony and I have hired New Creations for yet another home improvement project.

After living in our home for 8+ years, we will finally be adding adding a deck to the empty space pictured below:

And no, our grass is NOT this green.  But a girl can dream.:)

Our first delivery arrived, as did Mr. Tuttle’s sign:

I can’t wait to see how our view transforms from here:

And here:

Speaking of dreamingsomeday we would like to build a 3-season porch off of the church side, along with a deck that reaches around the back of our home.  Someday I’d also like a pool with a little deck (and a set of French doors) off of our Master Bedroom.  Someday likely won’t be here until our boys are both done with college AND I am working a whole lot more.  But that doesn’t really matter.  It’s the “dreaming about our future together” part that does.  Tony and I did it while we were dating and have come to realize the importance of continuing to do so throughout our marriage.

I’ll continue to post weekly progress as I did during our basement remodel last year (you can click HERE for details on that project).  Until next time…

Lori Von Wald - April 12, 2012 - 12:31 pm

Tina, I am so excited, they are hopefully going to be coming out to our house in the next couple weeks to look at some re-model options for our master bathroom!

Oooooooh, how very fun Lori!!!!!

happy belated easter

crystal kiss

I.SO.LOVE.THIS.

I’ve been busy working on edits while simultaneously learning to use new editing software – quite the challenge. [I’ll be sharing lots more from this beautiful session soon!]  We’ve also hired New Creations of Minnesota for another home improvement project so keep your eyes peeled for weekly updates similar to our basement remodel HERE.

Too, I’ll be heading out on Friday to attend a highly anticipated photography workshop taught by photographer Me Ra Koh and her husband Brian.  We’ve already been given THESE DVDs to watch (in addition to a few assignments) in preparation for the weekend workshop.  It has already been incredibly inspiring and I can’t wait to meet the others ladies in person!

I hope you all had a blessed Easter weekend.  Here’s a peek at how we spent ours…

easter weekend

Crystal Satnik - April 11, 2012 - 4:15 pm

I so love this too! :) Looking forward to seeing the other things you captured!

Looks like you had a good Easter! We stayed home and invited family to stop by. It was wonderful – a day full of family and food! Oh and a nap – that was awesome.

Enjoy your workshop!

Tina - April 12, 2012 - 1:03 pm

Sounds like the perfect way to spend the day, Crystal… especially, the nap part. :) I’ll have your pics done sometime in the next week!!
