5 fun things friday

5 Fun Things Friday

1. My mother-in-law had silhouettes of her children made when they were very young; every time I see them, it makes me wish I’d done the same. In addition to traditional papercut silhouettes, I found a number of unique items on Etsy as well. I especially love these ceramic plates, handpainted by the artist:

2. These personalized hangers would make for the perfect bridal shower gift.

3.  Picture this as part of an outdoor summer party… an ice cream cone station!

4.  And this wedding cake topper:

5.  I found a cute little dress shop on Etsy.

This is just one of my faves.

Happy Friday!!!

i’m heeeeeeere!

all checked in

I just checked into my hotel room and will be heading downstairs to connect with a few other ladies attending the workshop this weekend as well.  (Aside from email introductions, we have never met!)   Then I’ll be heading back up to my room to finish today’s 5 Fun Things Friday post and [hopefully] work on a few personal images. (I am waaaaaay behind!)

Our day begins at 9:30 am tomorrow and I am so excited!  I’ll likely be tied up into the evening but will be Tweeting along the way (with another blog update tomorrow night).

Be back soon!!!

capturing everyday life with teens

Our youngest son has braces now and the bedtime routine is a wee bit more complicated. I forgot to capture this routine with his brother and didn’t want to miss the second chance.

I have to challenge myself to continue taking pictures of moments that define the current season of their lives. It was a piece of cake when they were little because everything was so new and fresh; it seemed I ALWAYS had my camera out, ready to spring into action.

Not so much now.:(

I need to be careful not to let this time slip away too quickly.  Because before you know it, they will be off on their own.

And I will miss these moments terribly.
