playful girl 2019 | a magical crafting retreat to delight the soul

Playful Girl 2019

As we get older and take on more responsibilities, we tend to forget about the magic of play. Our desire for wonder and delight is often replaced with the need to be prosperous and productive. We lose our ability to create as our imaginations are stifled by busyness.

We need play. It is essential to self-discovery, freedom & joy at every age. Unstructured social connection, relishing the experience of doing without having to achieve goals – play is about embracing the moment and having fun. Embrace the magic of the moment at Playful Girl 2019. The weekend will include a special group art project, Fondue Night, a field trip to Dancing Dragonfly Winery, mini photo sessions, a toy shop & optional activities chosen with PLAY in mind. There will be rainbow inspired snacks and a hot beverage bar loaded with things pink and sparkly. All meals are included with the exception of one item you will be asked to bring (a signup form will be posted in advance of the retreat).

WHEN: Friday, February 15-Sunday, February 17, 2019 (Presidents’ Day weekend)

WHERE: The Trails Retreat (St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin)

COST: $200; SUPERSIZE IT by adding Thursday, 2/14 for only $20 more (see payment schedule below*)

*A $50 non-refundable deposit due 6/1/2018 will hold your spot with the remaining balance due in two equal payments on 10/1/2018 and 12/1/2018. A non-refundable deposit allows me to organize this special weekend from year-to-year without creating an unnecessary financial burden on my family or business (in addition to fronting a deposit, I am required to pay the full balance in advance). In the event of a cancellation, the amount paid (minus the $50 deposit) would be refunded once the spot fills.

the infj is sometimes referred to as a unicorn

© Tina Vega Photography

While in the early stages of planning Playful Girl 2019, my thoughts went to unicorns and rainbows. [See tomorrow’s blog post for details!] Unicorns were never a thing for me, barely on my radar. But I notice them everywhere now and have been allowing the little girl in me to indulge… for planning purposes, of course. Imagine my surprise upon learning my personality type is sometimes referred to AS A UNICORN!

infj unicorn

The INFJ personality type makes up less than one percent of the population, which is how it earned the nickname. Another reason to indulge.:D

I have been thinking about yesterday’s blog post and everything going on with my family of origin. There is a driving force I am seeking to understand (which is what lead to the whole reading-up-on-my-personality-type business). I found this blurb about my type on 16Personalities:

INFJs tend to see helping others as their purpose in life, “their real passion is to get to the heart of the issue so that people need not be rescued at all.

YES! That is it, the very thing pushing me right now. Wanting others to be equipped to protect themselves. I am doing my best to share only what is necessary for that purpose. Which means for now, some of my personal posts might look a little cryptic.

Perhaps understanding why might help those of you who regularly read my blog.

i am related to amy s. denzer

A stranger contacted me earlier this month after finding herself in an unexpected situation. This woman found my blog through a Google search and reached out, believing me to be related to Amy S. Denzer.

We ended up meeting over coffee and talked for nearly three hours. I believe there could be others like this woman, trying to find clarity and understanding. If this sounds like you feel free to connect with me by email at tina at tinavegaphotography dot com (I’ve spelled it out to prevent spam) or by using the “contact” button at the top of this page. [I can also be reached through FB at the above link entitled “find me on facebook.”]
