My son went to his first school dance on Saturday.  A huge milestone in my book.  His girlfriend had ordered a very special dress and told him it would be nice to have a very special wrist corsage to go with it.  I had spotted The Vinery during a recent photo session in Jordan and knew it would be the perfect flower shop for the corsage.

And indeed it was!  Dusted with blue glitter, a crystal in the center of the rose, sparkly ribbon – perfect.  My son’s outfit, on the other hand, was pretty simple:  black pants, black shirt, and royal blue tie.

So simple, in fact, this is what he was doing 15 minutes prior to leaving.

Then it was time to head on over to his girlfriend’s house.

I asked my son what he wanted for images and he told me to do my usual thing.  [Thank goodness!]

I absolute love this image of his girlfriend hugging him because it so clearly shows each of their personalities.

This image above is my faaaaaaaavorite with grandma, mom, and dad watching in the background.  I love mom’s smile!!!

We snapped a few images outdoors before heading over to a friend’s house for group pictures.

Again, the shot above is another favorite because it captures the whole parent experience.

After hanging out for a bit, the kids were served an Italian feast before heading off to the big dance.  [And my son… he DANCED.  I’m so proud.]  I’m sure this was the first of many big milestones to come.
