Emmy contacted me several weeks ago looking for a family photographer who would be comfortable working in low light settings. They had recently adopted a special needs child from China who was extremely sensitive to light. There could be no flash photography or direct sunlight.
Totally up my alley. And totally fitting to capture this very special family addition as a Legacy Session. 😀
The original plan was to meet at their home as I commonly do but Emmy, a photographer herself, really hoped for some outdoor images with her family. [She spends a lot of time photographing those she loves but is rarely in the photos herself!] So we arranged to meet early one Saturday morning in an area with substantial tree cover.
The two older kids were off and running from the start, in search of adventure.
They had great energy and a definite love of the outdoors. Their newest addition (below) was simply precious. Every time her momma would ask a question, she would respond with the smallest little voice.
A gentle innocence that simply melted my heart.
The family was a joy to be around. Capturing them was a blast and talking “real-life” photography with Emmy made this session especially fun.
Thank you, thank you Emmy for sharing your precious family with me!
