easter 2014

The boys and I went to church Saturday night and the service was beautiful and engaging.  We left with not only full hearts:

cookies from church

But full bellies as well!  The boys decorated eggs.

And I made Raspberry Pretzel Jello Salad and a loaf of bread from scratch.  (Let me just say, bread-making is serious business.  It was a 6-hour process from start to finish!!!)

We were up bright and early the next day.  The boys hunted for eggs and I finished up an egg dish for brunch at my parents’ house.

We filled up on all sorts of breakfast goodies while visiting with family on the porch.  (It was that warm outside.)

Then made our way to my mother-in-law’s home where we also celebrated two special birthdays!

BTW, the note above was written to the Easter Bunny by my husband and his siblings in 1975!  My mother-in-law always finds a special way of connecting the past to the present.  Another example of this can be found on the very placemats Emilio and Lorenzo are using to decorate their eggs in the black and white image above.  She gifted them to us one year => my husband’s laminated artwork from childhood!

Hope your day was filled with special moments and memories as well.  Happy Belated Easter!
