I wasn’t really sure WHAT to expect when I invited these ladies over for dinner. (I don’t even know what to expect from this point forward!) What I DO know is that I was captivated by THIS and had a desire for real-life connections. Real people. Real stories. After watching the video in that link, I felt a tug and started praying about it. I made a list of ladies I wanted to get to know better. While I had some sort of connection with all of them, none had a connection with each other. Strangers.
Then I invited them over for dinner. Which was sort of scary. But I like to cook and had this tug and knew it was supposed to happen. And if these dinners turn out to be anything like our bi-annual weekend scrapbooking retreats, friendships will surely be made among strangers.
And as I shared in the original post, we were give four questions to discuss. This month’s topic centered on “rest” – the importance of it, making time for it, and struggles we have surrounding it. It was thought provoking and inspiring.
Two rich hours in more ways than one. 😉
The faces may change from month-to-month depending on others’ schedules. My goal? To have six at the table each month. This may mean a rotating list of invitees over time. It might mean a BIG gathering at some point to keep connections going, I’m not quite sure – after all, I’m just following a tug!
