where to start

A friend came to me recently with the hope of living more intentionally in the coming year. As I put together a list of resources for her, it had me thinking about those first baby steps.

Where do I begin?

The first thing I would recommend (if you haven’t done so already) is a personality test similar to THIS ONE.  Once you have your 4-letter type, Google it!  Spend a week or so doing research on your type.  Some of my favorite websites include:

=> The Personality Page
=> 16Personalities
=> HumanMetrics
=> Keirsey (along with the book:  Please Understand Me II: Temperament, Character, Intelligence by David Keirsey)

Learning about your strengths and weaknesses will help steer and challenge you on the road ahead. Living with intention is a lifestyle change, a lifelong process of growth that has no end. You will do well for periods of time, able to stay on track before sliding headfirst into the ditch. When that happens, just crawl back to the road and pick up where you left off.

Progress not perfection is what matters most. [If you are interested living more intentionally, be sure to do your homework and visit my blog on Wednesday for the next baby step!]

In the meantime, I would love to hear what you discover about yourself in the coming week. What’s your personality type? What ‘new thing’ did you learn about yourself?
